PLC/HMI/robotics programmer

THE ROLE
At PPD Automation, you help PLCs, operator interfaces, robots and production equipment work together. You contribute to practical industrial projects, from operating sequence analysis through testing and commissioning.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Understand the process and help define operating sequences, modes and equipment interfaces.
• Develop, modify and document PLC programs and HMI interfaces.
• Implement controls, alarms, diagnostics and operating parameters.
• Configure and verify communications between PLCs, drives, sensors, robots and supervisory systems.
• Participate in robot programming or integration according to your experience and project requirements.
• Prepare and perform I/O, sequence, interlock and fault-recovery tests.
• Troubleshoot with the electrical and mechanical teams.
• Support commissioning, adjustments and operational validation with the client.
• Prepare backups, document changes and help transfer knowledge.
YOUR PROFILE
• Education in automation, electrical technology, electrical engineering or automated production engineering, or relevant experience.
• Practical PLC programming experience and an understanding of industrial sequences.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and connect software logic to equipment behaviour.
• A structured troubleshooting approach and a habit of documenting changes.
• Autonomy appropriate to your experience, teamwork and clear communication.
• Interest in shop testing and field commissioning.
ASSETS
Experience with HMI/SCADA, robotics, industrial networking, data acquisition or vision integration. Tell us which platforms, languages and brands you have used; you do not need to master all of them to introduce yourself.
WORK CONTEXT
Based in Boucherville, Québec, with possible client-site work depending on the project. Your mix of PLC, HMI, supervision and robotics work depends on your experience. Travel, schedule and employment conditions are discussed during the hiring process.
