THE INTERNSHIP
Want to understand how an electrical design becomes a working control panel? At PPD Automation, you can contribute to automation and robotics projects alongside the design team and shop.
POSSIBLE ASSIGNMENTS
• Help prepare and update electrical drawings, panel layouts and terminal plans.
• Assist with component selection and bills of materials.
• Check technical information in manufacturers’ documentation.
• Help identify cables, equipment and I/O.
• Support fabrication documentation and as-built updates.
• Participate in shop wiring checks and functional testing, depending on the assignment.
• Explore how electrical design, programming and equipment operation connect.
YOUR PROFILE
• Currently studying electrical engineering, electrical technology, automation or a related field.
• Basic electrical drawing knowledge and an interest in industrial control systems.
• Attention to detail, curiosity and willingness to ask questions and learn.
• Comfort with computer tools and an interest in technical drafting.
• Ability to work with others and document your work.
ASSETS
School or personal projects involving electrical design, assembly, instrumentation or automation. Electrical CAD experience is useful, but is not the only way to demonstrate your potential.
WHAT YOU COULD DEVELOP
A practical understanding of panel components and wiring, documentation and verification habits, and how drawings lead to fabrication and testing. Tasks and complexity are defined with the team according to your progress and available projects.
ARRANGEMENTS
Based in Boucherville, Québec. We will discuss the term, duration, internship level and your school’s requirements. The assignment depends on available projects and your study level.
